POLICY ON RESULTS REVIEW
How to Review Your Test Results
Patients seen by Dr. Jamila Madhani may access many laboratory and imaging results online through Health Gateway using their BC Services Card. Health Gateway allows British Columbia residents to securely view: • Lab test results • Diagnostic imaging reports • Medication history • Clinical visit summaries This is often the fastest way to see when results become available.
Reviewing Results With Your Family Doctor (GP)
In many cases, test results are first reviewed with your family physician (GP), who are copied on the investigations ordered by Dr. Madhani. Your GP can: • Explain routine or non-urgent results • Address general medical concerns • Determine if specialist follow-up is needed This is often the most appropriate first step for common lab work and imaging.
Reviewing Results With Dr. Madhani
Some test results — particularly abnormal neurological results and/or complex findings — may be reviewed directly with Dr. Madhani on a case by case basis. These are addressed: • During scheduled recall appointments to discuss • During scheduled follow-up appointments (either in person or by telemedicine depending on Dr. Madhani's instruction) when appropriate • On a case-by-case basis depending on clinical complexity If specialist interpretation is required, our clinic will arrange appropriate follow-up.
Important Notes About Results
Not all test results require immediate specialist review
• Some results are best discussed in the context of your overall neurological assessment
• Urgent or critical findings are addressed promptly by the ordering physician
